Our Country Pub

The Hoddington Arms, or ‘the Hodd’ as most locals know it is the only pub in the pretty village of Upton Grey, Hampshire and is situated between Basingstoke, Hook and Alton. Originally a destination pub, in recent years its fortunes suffered and the lovely old building was falling into disrepair. Four local businessmen decided the village deserved a great pub, so bought the freehold and lovingly restored ‘the Hodd’ to its former glory and a bit more.

The Hoddington Arms is a beautiful country pub offering a real alternative to the stereotypical gastropub. Our log fires, wood beams, slate floors and natural materials help to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy a pint of real ale snuggled by a roaring fire, or relax in the wonderfully spacious garden whilst relishing the scenic countryside surroundings. The outside cabana and fire pit provide a cosy and unusual venue to enjoy a fine cigar or an after dinner drink. We are family friendly and welcome children and well behaved dogs to our dining area and garden.

Fast gaining an excellent reputation as one of the finest country dining pubs in Hampshire, the talented kitchen team at the Hoddington Arms create exceptional locally sourced food at reasonable prices. The carefully selected wine list offers an eclectic range and superb value.

A true community pub, the Hoddington Arms is proud to host various events and is a real hub of village life. Take a look at our ‘what’s on’ page to check our latest schedule.
