Jane Austen’s House, Chawton
Jane Austen is one of the most popular and important novelists that England has ever produced. The house at Chawton is where she spent the last eight years of her life. It is of international importance as the place where she did the majority of her mature writing, but at the same time retains the charm of a village home. This 17th-century house tells the story of Jane Austen and her family.

Farnham Castle, Farnham

Watercress Line, Alton
The Mid Hants Railway, affectionately known as the ‘Watercress Line’ due to transporting watercress from Alresford to London, operates a fleet of steam locomotives. Today the railway runs the full 10 miles between the market towns of Alresford and Alton, preserving an important piece of 1940’s – 70’s railway heritage for this generation and many more to follow.
